The Carnival of the Edublogs is a weekly collection of the best blog posts about innovation in education, submitted to the festival from around the web. Each week, the Carnival “travels,” and is hosted by a different edublogger, who selects submissions and presents them in their own way.
This blog provides a link to each week’s host, news and updates on the Carnival itself, and a history of past Carnivals and schedule of upcoming ones.
The Carnival of the Edublogs was inspired by my participation in the Carnival of the Mobilists. The creator of that Carnival was previously a participant in the Carnival of the Capitalists, which was in turn inspired by the original and best-known Blog Carnival, the Carnival of the Vanities. There are hundreds of successful Blog Carnivals on numerous subjects, demonstrating its effectiveness as a collaborative construct. Participation in the Carnival as a reader, contributor or host may help educators to understand the potential use of Carnivals as a teaching and learning tool in their own right.
